All awardees of the President’s Scholarship will receive full tuition fee waiver, living allowance and waiver from hostel fee.


Other students may please note that we have several other categories of scholarships for which students will be able to apply for after joining the university. In general, SAU has the policy of providing financial support to all needy students and accordingly has a liberal scholarship regimen.

Project Positions at the South Asian University

Multi Skilled Staff

(3 Posts) Grade VIII – (US$ 3,000 to US$6,000)
Preferred Maximum Age : 35 years (Five year contract/extendable)


Minimum Educational Qualifications and Experience:

10+2 with additional technical qualification as an electrician, plumber, driver, etc. Successful candidate must have at least two years’ experience in the field. Successful candidate should have strong ethical conviction and a commitment to quality service; and the ability to competently interact with a culturally and ethnically diverse population of students, faculty and staff.


Responsibilities :

Multi-skilled staff will have to perform varied tasks like providing assistance and help in office work (such as help in keeping files / office records in a tidy condition; taking charge of movement of official papers within and outside the university) wherever posted in addition to the tasks relating to their technical skills. Multi-skilled staff will also perform other related duties and special projects as assigned or directed. They may be deployed at other sites also. They should have their own two wheeler with a valid driving licence.

Laboratory Attendant

(1 Post) Grade VIII – (US$ 3,000 to US$6,000)
Preferred Maximum Age : 35 years (Five year contract/extendable)


Minimum Educational Qualifications and Experience:

Should have passed high school (12th class) minimum and have 3 to 5 years experience of working as attendant in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / bio-medical laboratories. Successful candidate should have strong ethical conviction and a commitment to quality service; and the ability to competently interact with a culturally and ethnically diverse population of students, faculty and staff.


Responsibilities :

The Laboratory Attendant will be responsible for keeping clean the laboratory desks, laminar-flow and chemical hoods. He/she will do glassware washing and sterilization. He/she will also help in the upkeep of laboratory animals. Laboratory attendant will perform other duties as per the instructions of the Dean of the Faculty; and perform other related duties and special projects as assigned or directed.

Office Assistant (Caretaker)

(1 Post) Grade VII – (US$ 4,000 to US$9,000)
Preferred Maximum Age : 35 years (Five year contract/extendable)


Minimum Educational Qualifications and Experience:

Graduate with two years of related experience in a University/higher education institute. A Sanitary Inspectors' Diploma would be desirable. Successful candidate must have extensive knowledge of caretaking work, maintenance of civil and electrical work, and working knowledge in the area of computers; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively; and the ability to interact with a culturally and ethnically diverse population of students, faculty and staff.


Responsibilities :

Office Assistant (Caretaker) will be responsible for up-keep of the building. This involves carrying out minor repairs such as mending broken windows, changing light bulbs and unblocking drains; turning heating and lighting on and off at appropriate times; making sure the premises (class rooms, office rooms, lavatories, corridors, approach roads, etc. ) are clean and that rubbish is collected and taken away and any graffiti is cleaned up; maintaining the grounds and removing litter; maintain custody of rooms/table keys of rooms, inspect and monitor the office to ensure that the lights, computers, and other equipment are switched off in all offices after the closure of the office; keep records of items such as furniture, equipment etc. and also when taken out from SAU premises against authorization and perform other related duties as assigned.

Lab Assistant (ICT)

(1 Post) Grade VII – (US$ 4,000 to US$9,000)
Preferred Maximum Age : 35 years (Five year contract/extendable)


Minimum Educational Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree/diploma in any area of Information Technology from a recognized institution with at least 55% marks or equivalent grades, plus 3 to 5 years related experience in a computer lab or maintenance of computers and networks. Thorough knowledge of computer hardware, software and networking solutions is essential.
The successful candidate must also have good knowledge of computer applications and internet; strong interpersonal skills; exceptional English speaking skills; strong ethical convictions and a commitment to quality service; and the ability to competently interact with a culturally and ethnically diverse population of students, faculty, and staff.


Desirable :

Professional IT certification and / or Desktop support / Server administration experience.


Responsibilities :

The Laboratory Assistant (Information Technology) will help in establishment of the laboratories of the Faculty and will be responsible for their maintenance. He/she will ensure that all equipment in the laboratories are regularly serviced and remains in perfect working order. He/she will maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and render help to students using the laboratory. He/she will assist in the day to day functioning of computer lab and also carry out any other duty assigned from time to time. The Laboratory Assistant may also be required to service the computing needs of other departments of the University. The Laboratory Assistant will also perform other related duties and special projects as assigned or directed.
