Master of Computer Applications (MCA)

Current developments in Computing, including Information and Communication Technology (ICT), have created a visible shift in IT-enabled technology and services in the SAARC region. Existing Master’s programmes in Computer Applications provide a limited exposure of emerging inter-disciplinary techniques in governance, finance, life sciences, etc. It is therefore imperative to devise a programme which will balance emerging needs and strengthen the basics of computing techniques. The proposed curriculum is inter-disciplinary in nature and prepares the candidate for higher learning not only in the field of Information and Communication Technology but also in the allied areas of computational sciences, Information Technology enabled management etc. Three important components: analytical tools, computing and computational techniques, and emerging applications have been incorporated. Special care will be taken to keep the students abreast of the current and future trends in the field.
